After completing a science degree in Forestry, Scott worked in the Forestry industry for six years - taking him across North America. This science background and appreciation for nature is a constant influence on Scott’s art. Scott passion for art began at an early age, but it wasn’t until 2006 that Scott decided to study art at a higher level. Moving to Vancouver to study Animation Art & Design was a life changing experience that set him on his current path. The program was well rounded in the foundations of art; Scott studied sculpture, design, drawing, and many other classes that helped to enrich Scott’s art. After completing his diploma, he worked at a television cartoon studio in Vancouver as a professional character animator. Scott spent almost five years bringing characters to life and working his way up from a Junior Animator up to Animation Supervisor. During this period of time, Scott continued to hone his skills of sculpture, illustration, filmmaking, painting and photography. Scott now owns and operates an animation, illustration and video production company called Azara Effect Productions. www.azaraeffect.com Azara Effect Productions In 2010, Scott began to sculpt marble, granite, driftwood and other materials such as chicken wire. These different mediums each offer unique challenges and opportunities that Scott enjoys exploring. Scott continues to be inspired by the nature that surrounds him and abundance of natural beauty that Vancouver Island has to offer. As a member of the Vancouver Island Sculptors Guild continues to be an active participant in the art community.
